The Peterborough volunteer police cadets who took part in a night in cell to raise money for the Embrace charity received their certificates today from Embrace charity representatives. The cadets raised £1300. Cadet Hasifa Yasin raised the most, stating "It was a great experience raising for those that need the services from Embrace, they do an absolutely great job. It was so lovely to see how many people who were willing to donate to such a good cause".
During the session Embrace separately awarded Cadet Aliza Ahmed for their idea to name a new counselling service for child victims of sexual abuse and domestic abuse Time4u, which has been adopted as the name for the service! DS Heidi Mcadam said " I am really proud of the cadets with next steps planned for them to be trained to provide a listening service within schools on behalf of Embrace, for young people who may be going through traumatic incidents in their life and only feel comfortable speaking to similar age people". #supportingvictimsofcrime
