To mark the end of another fantastic cadet year, Leicestershire Police recently invited cadets and their families to attend a Recognition Parade at Force Headquarters. More than 100 cadets marched in front of their loved ones, and took part in formal uniform checks from senior officers.

The day gave cadets from each unit the chance to show what they've learned over the past year, and allowed their families a unique insight into the Volunteer Police Cadet (VPC) programme.
Sergeant Danny Graham, VPC Lead Coordinator at Leicestershire Police, said: "I am really pleased that we organised the parade; it was a very special way to recognise and celebrate the great work the cadets have done throughout the 2016/17 programme year.
"The parade successfully mixed a formal ceremony with a friendly event for all the family to enjoy. I am already looking forward to planning and delivering the next one!"
Stef Douglas, from Leicestershire Fire & Rescue Service, was among the senior inspecting officers and said: "Well done to all concerned; it was a great event and I was honoured to be a part of it."
Feedback from the day has been phenomenal, and many cadets and parents have passed on their thanks.
Elizabeth Richardson, 14, a cadet from the Charnwood Unit said: "Thank you so much to the staff for organising the parade; I really enjoyed it and it was nice that my family were there to share the day."
Dan Ablett, the parent of a Hinckley cadet, said: "Great morning at Force HQ. Well done to all involved."
