Suffolk Police held their annual cadet competition at Suffolk Police Headquarters, Martlesham over the weekend of 7th – 8th July 2018.

A total of 60 Cadets attended the event from Lowestoft, Martlesham, Ipswich, Stowmarket, Bury and Milenhall and were supported by Cadet Leaders, Officers, Staff, Specials and Volunteers from their local areas.

The teams were formed by mixing up Cadets from different units, and there were a series of challenges for each team to complete. The challenges were PSU, Stretcher, CBRN, Sports, Traffic, Radio, Training Village.

The sports field was the camp site for the night, and Domino’s pizza was plan B after use of the BBQ was suspended!

One of our Senior Officers kindly volunteered her time to attend the event and present certificates to teams in 3rd and 2nd place, and a trophy to the team finishing in 1st place.

Following the county competition, a team of 6 Cadets, selected for their performance and outstanding effort, will be representing Suffolk at the National Cadets Competition, hosted by Police Scotland in August.

This event involves a huge amount of time and effort, and I’d like to extend my thanks to each and everyone involved in the planning, and the running of the event itself.
