Volunteer Police Cadets from Mildenhall, Suffolk, recently helped a charity that supports people with learning difficulties. Leading lives provides a wide range of support to people with learning difficulties including those with physical multiple complex needs and autism with adults.

They have a centre in Mildenhall that is used most days as a support hub. The centre has a garden where the adults like to sit and reflect in the summer. However, the garden had become overgrown and needed some care and attention. One of the local PCSO’s, who is the SPOC for vulnerable residents, works with the organisation. Working together with our Cadets, it was decided it would be nice to give something back, with the cadets offering their support to clear the garden. The cadets worked really hard and cleared the garden ready for planting. They will be invited back next year to help with the planting of bulbs to turn the garden into a positive place. It will also be good for the cadets to reflect back on what they achieved.
