The walk commenced from the Senedd building in Cardiff Bay and finished at the Harbour Road car park, Barry Island.  The route was 12.75 miles along some spectacular coastal scenery, and the team were blessed with lovely spring sunshine making it a very enjoyable day.  The walk took just over 6 hours and so far the Barry team have raised over £660 for the charity through kind donations from friends and family.

The event allowed the volunteers to work on their teambuilding skills and was a great morale booster especially when they saw the finish line.

PS John said, "We would like to the thank the ‘Seashore Grill’ in Lavernock who provided refreshments to our group at the half way point, and all of our friends, family and colleagues who supported us."

In total over a 1000 people took part in 71 walks, clocking up a combined distance of 1057 miles. The walks followed the inspiring Welsh coastal path including Anglesey.  Each of the walks had a maximum of 12 participants and were guided by a volunteer leader with knowledge of the route.
