Superintendent Claire Wheatley, Force VPC lead said:

"Our volunteering work has always been about connecting communities to policing and policing to communities. I am extremely proud of our volunteers and the variety of opportunities we have here at #TeamNP. To be nominated and shortlisted for this award is a fantastic achievement and I couldn't be prouder of our cadets and the scheme that has been introduced, good luck and I look forward to hearing the outcome in March".

Northumbria Police is very fortunate to have a significant number of volunteers working alongside their staff and officers, who freely give up their own valuable time to the benefit of the communities served by the force.

We wish the new cadets luck at the awards ceremony which will take place at the end of March in London. We look forwards to providing an update on the outcome!
